Problem

A single-phase step-down transformer has a primary winding of 2200 turns and a secondary winding of 110 turns. The primary is connected to a 230 V, 50 Hz alternating-current mains supply. The transformer may be assumed ideal. (i) Find the secondary rms voltage on no-load. (ii) When the secondary delivers 5.0 A to an external load, calculate the rms current in the primary winding. (iii) Determine the electrical power delivered to the load in watts.
