Problem

In a circle with centre OO, chords ABAB and CDCD subtend central angles ∠AOB=(3x−20)∘\angle AOB = (3x - 20)^{\circ} and ∠COD=(x+40)∘\angle COD = (x + 40)^{\circ} respectively. (a) Given that AB=CDAB = CD, find the value of xx. (b) Hence determine the common measure of the two central angles. (c) If AB=7 cmAB = 7\,\text{cm}, determine the length of chord CDCD with reasons.
