Problem

Three point charges are fixed collinearly in the order OO, CC, DD along a straight line. Charge at OO is +8 μC+8\,\mu\text{C}, at CC is −2 μC-2\,\mu\text{C}, and at DD is +8 μC+8\,\mu\text{C}. The separation OCOC is 30 cm30\,\text{cm} and CDCD is also 30 cm30\,\text{cm}. Determine all positions on this line, measured from OO, where a small positive test charge would experience zero net electrostatic force.
