Resistors of 3 Ω (AB), 5 Ω (BC), 4 Ω (CD) and 6 Ω (DA) form the sides of a rectangular loop ABCD. A resistor of 2 Ω is connected across the diagonal BD. A cell of emf 18 V (negligible internal resistance) is connected between A (positive) and C (negative).
Calculate the current through the diagonal resistor BD and specify whether it flows from B to D or from D to B.
