Problem

A physics project investigates how the speed produced depends on the mass of the object when the same amount of work is done. (i) Show that, for a fixed amount of work WW, the speed vv acquired by a body starting from rest is inversely proportional to the square root of its mass mm. (ii) Two metallic balls of masses 200 g200\,\text{g} and 800 g800\,\text{g} are launched from the same apparatus. Each ball receives 1600 J1600\,\text{J} of work while starting from rest. Calculate the launch speed of each ball. (iii) Compare the kinetic energies finally possessed by the two balls and comment on your result.
