Problem

Let a⃗=2i−3j+k\vec a = 2\mathbf i-3\mathbf j+\mathbf k and b⃗=i+4j−2k\vec b = \mathbf i+4\mathbf j-2\mathbf k. (i) Find a vector of magnitude 66 that is perpendicular to both a⃗\vec a and b⃗\vec b. (ii) Calculate the area of the parallelogram having a⃗\vec a and b⃗\vec b as its adjacent sides. (iii) Determine the area of the triangle whose two sides are represented by a⃗\vec a and b⃗\vec b.
