Problem

OO is the origin and AA is a fixed point on the circle of radius aa with centre OO. The vector OA\mathbf{OA} is denoted by a\mathbf{a}. A variable point PP lie on the tangent at AA and OP=r\mathbf{OP} = \mathbf{r}. Show that a⋅r=a2\mathbf{a} \cdot \mathbf{r} = a^2. Hence, if P(x,y)P(x, y) and A(x1,y1)A(x_1, y_1) deduce the equation of tangent at AA to this circle.
