Problem

Natural chlorine consists of two stable isotopes, 35 ⁣Cl{}^{35}\!\text{Cl} and 37 ⁣Cl{}^{37}\!\text{Cl}, with percentage abundances 75%75\% and 25%25\% respectively. (i) Calculate the number of neutrons present in each isotope. (ii) Determine the average atomic mass of chlorine on this basis. (iii) Find the average number of neutrons per chlorine nucleus in naturally occurring chlorine.
