Problem

A toy car rolls off the edge of a horizontal tabletop that is 1.2 m1.2\,\text{m} high. The car lands on the floor a horizontal distance of 0.95 m0.95\,\text{m} from the edge. Assume air resistance is negligible and take g=10 m/s2g=10\,\text{m/s}^2 downward. (a) Determine the time the car is in the air. (b) Calculate the speed of the car as it leaves the tabletop. (c) If another identical car leaves the same tabletop with twice the speed found in part (b), predict the horizontal distance from the edge at which it will land.
