Problem

Consider the function f(x)=1xf(x)=\dfrac{1}{x}. Answer the following questions. (i) State the domain and the range of ff. Give reasons for your answers. (ii) What value does f(x)f(x) approach when xx tends to 00 from the right and from the left? What value does f(x)f(x) approach as xx tends to +∞+\infty and −∞-\infty? (iii) Identify the quadrants in which the graph of ff lies. Explain how the sign of xx determines the sign of f(x)f(x).
