A block of mass 4 kg4\,\text{kg} lies on a smooth horizontal table. It is connected by a light, inextensible string passing over a frictionless pulley at the table edge to a hanging block of mass 3 kg3\,\text{kg}. Take g=9.8 m s−2g = 9.8\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-2}. (i) Calculate the magnitude of the acceleration of the system. (ii) Find the tension in the string.
