An air-conditioner rated 1.8 kW works in two modes: active (full power) and standby (80 W). Each day it runs 6 h in active mode and remains on standby for the rest of the day.
(i) Calculate the total electrical energy consumed in a 30-day month.
(ii) The electricity board charges Rs. 5 per unit for the first 200 units and Rs. 7 per unit for any additional units. Compute the total electricity bill for the month.
