Problem

A single circular coil of radius 8.0 cm is mounted on a shaft so that it can rotate with constant angular speed ω\omega about one of its diameters. The coil is placed in a uniform magnetic field of 0.20 T directed perpendicular to the rotation axis. At time t=0t = 0, the plane of the coil is perpendicular to the magnetic field. Work through the following steps: (i) Derive an expression for the magnetic flux through the coil as a function of time. (ii) Obtain the rms value of the flux over one complete rotation. (iii) For ω=10  rad s−1\omega = 10\;\text{rad s}^{-1}, calculate the maximum numerical value of the time-varying flux.
