Problem

A series RLCRLC circuit is driven by a source of peak emf E ⁣mE_{\!m}. The resistance of the circuit is 25 Ω25\,\Omega. (i) Derive an expression for the amplitude of current as a function of the driving angular frequency. (ii) Using the result of part (i), show that the current amplitude attains its maximum value at the resonant frequency and obtain that maximum value in terms of E ⁣mE_{\!m} and the resistance. (iii) If E ⁣m=150 VE_{\!m}=150\,\text{V}, calculate the average power dissipated in the circuit at resonance.
