Problem

Consider the points P(0,0),  Q(4,0)P(0,0),\;Q(4,0) and R(4,3)R(4,3). (i) Plot the points PP, QQ and RR on the Cartesian plane and join them to form △PQR\triangle PQR. (ii) Identify the type of triangle △PQR\triangle PQR is, giving reasons based on the positions of its vertices. (iii) Calculate the area of △PQR\triangle PQR by selecting an appropriate base and height from the graph. (iv) Find the coordinates of a point SS such that PQRSPQRS forms a square lying entirely in the first quadrant with sides parallel to the axes, and plot the point SS.
