Problem
A craftsman cuts a circular wooden disc of radius 14cm into six equal sectors. From each sector he removes the isosceles triangle bounded by the two radii, leaving behind a window shaped like the corresponding segment. Using π=722, answer the following.
(i) Find the area of one of the six sectors.
(ii) Calculate the area of the triangle removed from one sector.
(iii) Hence determine the area of the remaining segment (window) from one sector.
(iv) Find the total area of wood removed from all six sectors.
