Problem

An electron is orbiting in a circular orbit of radius rr under the influence of a constant magnetic field of strength BB. Assuming that Bohr's postulate regarding the quantisation of angular momentum holds good for this electron, find the following. Assume that the charge on the electron is −e-e and its mass is mm. (1) The allowed values of the radius rr of the orbit. (2) The kinetic energy of the electron in orbit. (3) The potential energy of interaction between the magnetic moment of the orbital current due to the electron moving in its orbit and the magnetic field BB. (4) The total energy of the allowed energy levels. (5) The total magnetic flux due to the magnetic field BB passing through the nnth orbit.
