Problem

A person whose eye-level is 1.6 m above the ground stands on level ground at a distance dd metres from a vertical tower of height HH metres (H>1.6)(H>1.6). The angle of elevation of the top of the tower is θ\theta. (i) Show that H=1.6+dtan⁡θH = 1.6 + d \tan \theta. (ii) Using the relation obtained in part (i), find the height of the tower when d=75 md = 75\,\text{m} and θ=30∘\theta = 30^\circ. (Take 3=1.732\sqrt{3}=1.732.)
