Problem

A solid metallic sphere of radius 9 cm9\,\text{cm} is melted and recast into right circular cones, each having a radius of 3 cm3\,\text{cm} and a height of 4 cm4\,\text{cm}. (a) Find the volume of the original sphere. (b) Calculate the volume of one cone. (c) Determine how many such cones can be formed from the melted metal. (d) If 2 cm32\,\text{cm}^3 of metal is wasted in the process for every cone produced, find the maximum number of complete cones obtained.
