Problem

A straight jogging track EFEF intersects two straight walkways ABAB and CDCD at points PP and QQ respectively. The acute angle between EFEF and ABAB that lies inside the region between ABAB and CDCD is 68∘68^\circ. The angle on the opposite side of EFEF at QQ that also lies inside the region between ABAB and CDCD is (2y+4)∘(2y + 4)^\circ. (i) If the two walkways ABAB and CDCD are required to be parallel for safety reasons, form an equation in yy and find its value. (ii) For the value of yy obtained in part (i), calculate the magnitude of the angle at QQ. (iii) If instead y=30y = 30, determine whether ABAB and CDCD would be parallel. Give a reason for your answer.
