Problem

A ladder 10 m10\,\text{m} long rests against a vertical wall so that its foot is 6 m6\,\text{m} from the base of the wall. The ladder makes an acute angle α\alpha with the horizontal ground. (i) Compute sin⁡α\sin \alpha and cos⁡α\cos \alpha, writing each as a simplified fraction. (ii) Using the values found in part (i), calculate T=csc⁡α+cot⁡α−sec⁡α.T = \csc \alpha + \cot \alpha - \sec \alpha.
