Problem

A skateboarder rides along a circular arc of radius 8.0 m8.0\,\text{m}. At one instant the skateboarder’s net acceleration is 3.5 m ⁣/ ⁣s23.5\,\text{m}\!/\!\text{s}^2, directed 25∘25^{\circ} ahead of the inward radial line toward the center of the circle (that is, 25∘25^{\circ} in the direction of motion from the radial line). Determine: (i) the skateboarder’s speed, and (ii) the rate at which the speed is changing at that instant.
