Problem

In a circuit, the terminal potential difference of a battery is V1=12.45 V ±0.05 VV_{1}=12.45\,\text{V}\,\pm0.05\,\text{V} while the potential difference across an external resistor is V2=10.15 V ±0.05 VV_{2}=10.15\,\text{V}\,\pm0.05\,\text{V}. The resistance of the resistor is R=5.00 Ω ±0.05 ΩR=5.00\,\Omega\,\pm0.05\,\Omega. Calculate the power dissipated in the resistor and the relative uncertainty in your answer.
