Problem

A pair of closely wound coils forms an elementary transformer. The mutual inductance between the primary and the secondary is 0.40 H0.40\,\text{H}. (i) For the time interval 0≤t≤5 s0 \le t \le 5\,\text{s}, the current in the primary varies according to Ip=6+2tI_p = 6 + 2t amperes (with tt in seconds). Write the expression for the rate of change of the current. (ii) Calculate the magnitude of the emf induced in the secondary at t=3.0 st = 3.0\,\text{s}. (iii) If the secondary has 500 turns, determine the magnetic flux linked with each turn at t=3.0 st = 3.0\,\text{s}.
