Problem

A rod is fixed at one end to a wall so that it lies along the positive xx-axis. At the free end, 0.40 m0.40\,\text{m} from the wall, a 20 N20\,\text{N} force is applied in the xyxy-plane making an angle of 30∘30^{\circ} above the rod (towards positive yy-direction). Take the zz-axis coming out of the page towards the observer. Clockwise rotation about the zz-axis is to be taken as positive. Determine the magnitude and sign of the torque about the wall.
