Problem

A fair coin is tossed at the same instant that a fair die is rolled. The result is recorded as an ordered pair (Face on coin, Number on die). (i) List the complete sample space of this experiment and state its size. (ii) Determine the probability of getting a head on the coin and an even number on the die at the same time. (iii) Calculate the probability of getting a head on the coin or a number greater than 44 on the die (or both). (iv) Find the probability of getting neither a head on the coin nor a number greater than 44 on the die in a single trial.
