Problem

Two cars, X and Y, travel along a straight road. Their velocities (in m s−1\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-1}) vary with time tt (in s\text{s}) according to vX=2t+4v_X = 2t + 4, vY=10v_Y = 10. (i) At what instant are their speeds equal? (ii) Which car covers the greater displacement during the first 6 s6\,\text{s} of motion?
