Problem

Consider the circle x2+y2=25x^{2}+y^{2}=25 and the point P(3,4)P(3,4). (i) Verify that PP lies on the circle. (ii) Find the equation of the tangent to the circle at PP in general form. (iii) Rewrite the equation obtained in part (ii) in slope–intercept form y=mx+cy=mx+c and state the values of mm and cc. (iv) Calculate the xx-intercept and yy-intercept of the tangent found in part (ii).
