Problem
Two solid wheels A and B mounted on separate but parallel axles roll side by side along a straight road without slipping. The radius of wheel A is 30cm and that of wheel B is 45cm.
(i) When wheel A has completed exactly 500 revolutions, calculate the linear distance travelled by each wheel.
(ii) For the same linear distance found in part (i), determine the exact number of revolutions completed by wheel B (answer correct to two decimal places).
(iii) If wheel B were also to make 500 revolutions, by how many metres would it out-travel wheel A?
