Problem

The linear equation 3x+2y=123x + 2y = 12 is given below. Work out the following: (i) Complete the ordered pairs so that they satisfy the equation: (a) (_,4)(\_, 4) (b) (0,_)(0, \_) (c) (2,_)(2, \_) (ii) Prove algebraically that if xx is any integer, the ordered pair (x, 6−32x)\bigl(x,\, 6 - \tfrac{3}{2}x\bigr) satisfies the equation. (iii) Using the result of part (ii), list any three different integer solutions other than those obtained in part (i).
