Problem

A point charge q1=+6 μCq_1=+6\,\mu\text{C} is fixed at the point (4 cm,  3 cm)(4\,\text{cm},\;3\,\text{cm}) on the xyxy-plane. A second point charge q2=−4 μCq_2=-4\,\mu\text{C} is fixed at (−2 cm,  1 cm)(-2\,\text{cm},\;1\,\text{cm}). (a) Find the displacement vector r⃗21\vec r_{21} from q2q_2 to q1q_1 and write the corresponding unit vector r^21\hat r_{21}. (b) Calculate the electrostatic force vector F⃗21\vec F_{21} exerted by q1q_1 on q2q_2 in unit-vector notation. (c) Determine the magnitude of this force and the angle it makes with the positive xx-axis.
