Problem

Two identical billiard balls, each of mass 200 g200\,\text{g}, are on a smooth horizontal table. Ball A moves due east with speed 2.0 m s−12.0\,\text{m s}^{-1} and strikes ball B, which is at rest. After the perfectly elastic collision, ball A moves with speed 1.0 m s−11.0\,\text{m s}^{-1} in a direction 60∘60^{\circ} north of east. (i) Calculate the speed of ball B after the collision. (ii) Find the angle that the velocity of ball B makes with the eastward direction.
