Problem

During a laboratory activity a student records the following readings for a conductor kept at constant temperature: Potential difference (V): 2, 4, 6, 8; Corresponding current (A): 0.10, 0.20, 0.31, 0.39. (i) For each pair of readings calculate the resistance of the conductor. (ii) Based on the values obtained in part (i), discuss whether the conductor obeys Ohm’s law. Give a reason for your answer. (iii) Using the two readings that most closely satisfy Ohm’s law, determine the best estimate of the resistance of the conductor.
