Problem
A solenoid has 1 200 turns uniformly wound over a length of 0.60 m. It carries a steady current of 2.5 A.
(a) Calculate the magnetic field inside the solenoid.
(b) Without changing the current or the total number of turns, the same wire is rewound so that the turns occupy only 0.30 m of the length. Calculate the new magnetic field produced inside the solenoid.
