During an experiment on a metallic wire, the following set of readings was obtained. One reading is suspected to be faulty.
Voltage V (in V): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Current I (in A): 0.22, 0.44, 0.66, 0.83, 1.10, 1.32
(a) Plot the six points on graph paper taking V along the y-axis and I along the x-axis.
(b) Ignoring the reading which does not appear to fit the overall trend, draw the best-fit straight line through the remaining points.
(c) From the graph drawn in part (b), determine the resistance of the wire.
(d) Calculate the percentage deviation of the faulty reading from the value predicted by the best-fit line at the same voltage.
