Problem

A thermodynamic cycle for an ideal gas consists of the following four sequential processes: • A→BA \to B: constant pressure expansion at 100 kPa100\,\text{kPa} from V=0.010 m3V=0.010\,\text{m}^3 to V=0.030 m3V=0.030\,\text{m}^3, • B→CB \to C: constant volume increase in pressure to 300 kPa300\,\text{kPa}, • C→DC \to D: constant pressure compression at 300 kPa300\,\text{kPa} back to V=0.010 m3V=0.010\,\text{m}^3, • D→AD \to A: constant volume decrease in pressure back to 100 kPa100\,\text{kPa}. Calculate the net work done BY the gas over one complete cycle. Include the algebraic sign in your answer.
