Problem

A student pulls a toy cart along a smooth floor with a string that makes an angle of 60∘60^{\circ} with the direction of motion of the cart. (i) The magnitude of the pulling force is 120 N120\,\text{N}. How much work is done by the force while the cart moves 5.5 m5.5\,\text{m} along the floor? (ii) Keeping the magnitude of the pulling force the same, the student now wants to do the same amount of work while holding the string horizontally (along the direction of motion). Calculate the distance through which the cart must be pulled in this new situation.
