Problem

A circular coil of radius 5 cm having 100 tight turns is held fixed with its plane perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field that changes only in magnitude with time. (i) Define magnetic flux linked with the coil and write its mathematical expression. (ii) Explain why an emf is produced in the coil when the magnetic field strength varies, even though the area and orientation of the coil remain unchanged. (iii) State, with reason, the direction of the induced current when the magnetic field increases, as observed along the direction of the field lines.
