Problem

A ladder of length 7.5 m7.5\,\text m rests against a vertical wall making an angle of 68∘68^\circ with the ground. The foot of the ladder is then pulled away from the wall until the ladder makes an angle of 43∘43^\circ with the ground. (i) Calculate the original height up the wall reached by the ladder and the original distance of the foot from the wall. (ii) After moving, determine the new distance of the foot from the wall and the new height reached by the ladder. (iii) By how much did the top of the ladder slide down the wall and by how much did the foot slide along the ground? Give answers correct to two decimal places.
