Problem

A carpenter installs two horizontal slats EFEF and GHGH in a window. A diagonal brace JKJK is fixed so that it meets EFEF at JJ and GHGH at KK. The exterior angle between JKJK and slat EFEF is measured as 50∘50^\circ, while the interior consecutive angle between JKJK and slat GHGH on the same side of the brace is 128∘128^\circ. Answer the following: (i) By calculation, verify whether the two slats are parallel. (ii) If the design demands that the slats be parallel, by how many degrees should the angle at KK be adjusted so that the requirement is met?
