Problem

Answer the following questions related to complementary and supplementary angles. (i) Define complementary angles and supplementary angles. (ii) Explain, with reason, why no angle in a complementary pair can be obtuse. (iii) Two angles are given by (4x+12)∘(4x+12)^{\circ} and (6x−42)∘(6x-42)^{\circ}. Without solving for xx, write the algebraic condition that must be satisfied if these angles are supplementary. Briefly explain each step of your reasoning. (iv) Using your result from part (iii), determine whether both angles can be obtuse when xx is an integer. Justify your answer.
