Problem

A current of 12.0 A12.0\,\text{A} arrives at junction J1J_1. From J1J_1 the current splits: one portion, IAI_A, passes through resistor RA=2 ΩR_A = 2\,\Omega to junction J2J_2; the remainder, IBI_B, passes through resistor RB=4 ΩR_B = 4\,\Omega directly back to the battery’s negative terminal. At J2J_2, an external device supplies an additional 3.0 A3.0\,\text{A} into the circuit. The combined current then flows through resistor RC=6 ΩR_C = 6\,\Omega back to the battery’s negative terminal. Assuming all connecting wires have negligible resistance, calculate the current IAI_A through resistor RAR_A.
