Problem

Given three vectors a=6i^−3j^\mathbf{a} = 6\hat{i} - 3\hat{j} , b=2i^−6j^\mathbf{b} = 2\hat{i} - 6\hat{j} and c=−2i^+21j^\mathbf{c} = -2\hat{i} + 21\hat{j} such that α=a+b+c\alpha = \mathbf{a} + \mathbf{b} + \mathbf{c} . Then, the resolution of the vector α\alpha into components with respect to a\mathbf{a} and b\mathbf{b} is given by (1) 3a−2b3\mathbf{a} - 2\mathbf{b} (2) 3b−2a3\mathbf{b} - 2\mathbf{a} (3) 2a−3b2\mathbf{a} - 3\mathbf{b} (4) a−2b\mathbf{a} - 2\mathbf{b}
