Problem

A laboratory investigation produced the following values of force on a 0.30 m0.30\,\text{m} long straight conductor kept perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field while different currents were passed through it. The strength of the magnetic field was constant but unknown. (a) Current II (A):  2    4    6    8\,\quad 2 \;\; 4 \;\; 6 \;\; 8 Force FF (N):  0.48  0.96  1.44  1.92\,\quad 0.48 \; 0.96 \; 1.44 \; 1.92 (b) (i) Using the given data, draw a graph of force FF (vertical axis) versus current II (horizontal axis) on a suitable scale. (c) (ii) From your graph, find the slope and hence determine the magnetic flux density BB present in the experiment. (d) (iii) Use the graph to predict the force that would act on the conductor if the current were increased to 10 A10\,\text{A} under the same conditions.
