Problem

Consider two separate situations involving adjacent angles at a point RR. (a) The measures of the adjacent angles are 132∘132^{\circ} and 48∘48^{\circ}. Are the non-common arms of these angles collinear? Give a reason for your answer. (b) In another case, the adjacent angles measure (p+12)∘(p+12)^{\circ} and (2p−12)∘(2p-12)^{\circ}. It is known that the non-common arms are collinear. (i) Find the value of pp. (ii) Calculate the measure of each angle. (c) Discuss briefly how the results of parts (a) and (b) together illustrate the converse of the Linear Pair Axiom.
