Problem

Two electric winches lift loads vertically at steady speeds. Winch A produces a constant upward force of 200 N200\,\text{N} and raises its load at 2 m/s2\,\text{m/s}. Winch B exerts 100 N100\,\text{N} and raises its load at 4 m/s4\,\text{m/s}. Without performing explicit numerical multiplication, answer the following: (i) Which winch delivers the greater power, or are they the same? Give reasons for your answer. (ii) Explain qualitatively how a small force applied at high speed can deliver the same power as a large force applied at a lower speed.
