Problem

Consider the polynomial p(x)=2x3−5x2−4x+3p(x)=2x^{3}-5x^{2}-4x+3. (i) Show that x=3x=3 is a zero of p(x)p(x). (ii) Using the result of part (i), factorise p(x)p(x) completely into linear factors. (iii) Hence, solve p(x)=0p(x)=0 and write the roots in ascending order, clearly indicating any repeated roots if they occur.
