Problem

A brass circular plate of diameter 0.40 m0.40\,\text{m} has a central circular hole of diameter 0.10 m0.10\,\text{m}. If the temperature of the plate is raised by 50∘C50^{\circ}\text{C} and the coefficient of superficial expansion of brass is 4.0×10−5 ∘C−14.0 \times 10^{-5}\,^{\circ}\text{C}^{-1}, find the increase in the area of the hole. Give your answer in mm2\text{mm}^2 (use π=3.14\pi = 3.14).
