Problem

A square of side length 0.40 m0.40\,\text{m} has identical point masses of 0.25 kg0.25\,\text{kg} at each corner. The axis is perpendicular to the plane of the square and passes through its center. One of the corner masses is moved to the midpoint of the nearest edge, while the other three masses remain in place. Determine the change ΔI=Inew−Ioriginal\Delta I = I_{\text{new}} - I_{\text{original}} in the rotational inertia of the system about the same axis.
