Problem

A variable current source is connected across a fixed 20 Ω20\,\Omega resistor. The current supplied by the source increases uniformly from 0 A0\,\text{A} at t=0 st = 0\,\text{s} to 5 A5\,\text{A} at t=10 st = 10\,\text{s}. Carry out the following tasks: (i) Write an expression for the current I(t)I(t) as a function of time during the interval 0≤t≤10 s0 \le t \le 10\,\text{s}. (ii) Hence obtain an expression for the instantaneous electrical power converted into heat in the resistor as a function of time. (iii) Determine the total electrical energy dissipated in the resistor during the 10 s10\,\text{s} interval.
